生物技术 通路

澳门威尼斯赌场 is focused on creating accessible 路径ways 为 future biotechnicians to progress from public high schools, to degree and certificate programs, to biotechnology careers and/or further study at four-year universities.

A 生物技术nology Advisory Board survey was developed by the grant team to assess entry-level skills required by employers. Findings  were disseminated to the biotech education community and as a result, Har为d developed six new biotechnology courses, a revised 生物技术nology Certificate, and a new AAS degree in 生物技术nology.

目标

  • Develop the AAS in 生物技术nology degree and the 生物技术nology Certificate programs to align with industry skills, knowledge, and competencies.
  • Increase student enrollment and completion in Har为d's biotechnology programs, with an emphasis on recruiting underrepresented students, via hands-on community outreach with high school students and their families. Outreach will also include 信息 regarding academic and career opportunities in biotechnology.
  • Ensure that every 澳门威尼斯赌场 biotechnology student possesses the professional, field-specific, and career-readiness skills to succeed in biotechnology employment.

This FREE 生物技术 通路: 夏季研究所 provides hands-on, minds-on laboratory experiences that allow participants to gain biotechnology skills and learn more about what a career in biotech has to offer.

This program is open to all current high school students who have taken at least one 高中生物课程.

Designed 为 high school students and families, these workshops are held throughout the year and provide those interested in biotech an opportunity to explore the career 路径.

Are you a high school life science educator interested in integrating biotechnology content and laboratory skills that align with curriculum standards? 然后是生物技术 通路 教学学院 is the professional development series is 为 you! 

These half-day workshops are held at 澳门威尼斯赌场 and include laboratory activities and discussion about implementation strategies that best fit participants’ 类. Participants will receive a $200 stipend 为 each half-day workshop they 参加. There is also an opportunity to 参加 the Maryland Collegiate STEM Conference with our faculty on APR 20.
